Lionheart Item Feature 1

2003-02-17

Lionheart is a computer role playing game that is being developed by Reflexive Entertainment in conjunction with Black Isle Studios. The game is an original title which uses an updated version of the SPECIAL character development system (from Fallouts 1 and 2) in a quasi-historical medieval Europe. Lionheart diverges from traditional high fantasy by placing the player on Earth in the 16th century in which history has taken a different path and magic has been released upon the world. Using a mix of historical and fictional locations and characters, the player progresses through a deep story while advancing through the classless character system.

In this new series of articles, designers of the game will introduce several items from the game

Ivory Mace of Divinity

Many of these weapons were created for the Knights Templar in the Ritual of 1248. This mace, along with others of its kind, has been wielded against the undead scourge in Europe for hundreds of years. Because of its enchantments, any undead struck will suffer an additional 3-9 points of acid damage, and 1% of the time will be utterly destroyed in a divine display of power. The mace also gives 1 skill point in each of the Divine Skill Branches.

Book of Death

Written in dragon blood, this tome details the inner machinations of bringing the dead to life. Reading the tome provides 15 skill points to the Tribal Spell Branch of Necromancy.

Large Shield of the Fire Drake

This shield grants 15 Fire Resistance, increases its bearer's One-Handed Melee skill by 8 points and strengthens its bearer's fire attacks by 10%. (Developer's Note: The exact amount of Fire Resistance,One-Handed skill bonus and offensive Fire damage modifier is determined by the power of the individual when found. Exact game numbers will vary, depending upon how powerful the character is when the item is found).
