Adrenaline Vault has written a preview of Duality, the upcoming Cyberpunk RPG by Trilobite. Here's a bit:
Duality will include up to 40 quests that maximize the use of these characters' abilities. None of the quests will have a pre-determined path to completion because Trilobite is designing them to be freely played according to the gamer's style and the character's ability. For example: If an action fan is playing the mercenary, he can destroy all of the enemies and obstacles in his way. If the player wants more brain-stimulating challenges, he can sneak around, avoid battles and trap his opponents. Players will be able to complete side quests to earn more money and gain additional experience. All of the necessary gameplay information will be represented through character appearance and environment – meaning Duality will not offer a HUD.

Graphically, Duality is meant to capture the essence of the cyberpunk genre and offer a dark view of the near future. Whether the artists can pull this off remains to be seen, but at least they have the tools: The engine running the game supports full polygon environments with real-time mesh smoothing, bump mapping, inverse kinematics, dynamic shadowing, localized damage and characters with polygons to spare. The real-time cut scenes will tell Duality's story using detailed character models with eyeball movement, facial expressions and even separate teeth and lips.
