The 'rumor' we posted about yesterday was a hoax. Derek French posted on the Black Isle Boards and made clear, that Neverwinter Night is being developed till the end and will include the multiplayer mode as planned:

    ROFLMAO!
Yes, its a hoax. Here is the actual raw e-mail that was sent out. 99.9% of people didn't believe it, but I guess someone out there didn't bother checking their facts first.

Also, I love the misspellings, the poor use of language, and the simple fact that the return address was from Yahoo.

    Subject: Neverwinter Nights cancellation

    Dear Fans,

We regret to inform you that as of this morning we decided to pull the plug
    on Neverwinter Nights.

Although the rest of the team is not ready to let the public know of this
yet, I am coming forward to send my apologies about the cancellation.

We have worked so hard for the past few years to make Neverwinter Nights the
best online creative computer RPG ever, but alas we kept running into
barriors that could not be avoided. We said we had all the technology to
create such a game, but we dont. We cannot release a game with such promise
when the network code is unstable and several other cases that will be
reveiled in a later post. The bottem line is we just could not keep going
the way things were going with the game. We are considering releasing the
single player part of the game as a seperate product in the future and we
will be selling the Neverwinter Nights graphic engine to other comapanies in
the future. But as for now the multiplayer aspect of Neverwinter Nights, as
far as creating D&D for the computer; is no more.

We will post an update in the near future but as of now please do not reply
at this time as we are at work on figuring out if we should keep Bioware
    running or not.

    Thanks,

    Derek French

Once again, this is a HOAX and is not true. Everything is chugging along smoothly in NWN land. Enjoy the laugh as I did.
