A once forgotten place, a world of fantasy and possibilities...

...to you the reader I bring you to Rivellon, the world in which Divine Divinity exists. A world of beauty filled with wonderful creatures that we call fantasy… teeming with bustling cities where dwarves, elves, humans, and lizard men all co-exist.

A world of full of dark crypts and dungeons scattered throughout Rivellon belonging to long forgotten powerful Necromancers, that led battles in the Ancient ‘War of the Damned', and waiting to be discovered by weary and foolhardy adventurers such as yourself. The bounty for such initiative and perseverance... well legend has it the Legendary ‘Sword of Lies' is the reward. A powerful Necromancer can never be truly killed; their corpse still stirs in the tomb for they wait ever patiently to be released by unsuspecting Tomb Raiders.

Ancient demon writing on the sacred slabs of Vermillion tells of 13 sacred shrines deep below the lands of Rivellon. These shrines are the resting places to the ‘Generals of the Damned', the deadliest demon knights ever trained. They served the Lord of Chaos during the Wars of the Mages and the Wars of the Damned. It wasn't until Duke Ferol sacrificed himself to banish the Lord of Chaos did the Demon Knights lose their gift of immortality, so they fled and constructed shrines for themselves scattered deep below Rivellon in concealed locations.

Other dungeons have been discovered, but more often than not they are homes to the Imps, Ghosts and Trolls. Still they are not to be taken lightly, they will attack you for you are intruders to them and their space.

Rivellon, is also the domain where the ancient and almost extinct races of dragons reside. Of all creatures that inhabit our world, dragons appeal the most to people's imaginations. Wise, powerful, aggressive, and cunning are all words that come to mind. They are the epitome of all that is beautiful in nature, and if one ever gets to see a dragon, he is considered blessed... that is if he lives long enough to tell the tale. Sightings of the various species of dragons have included the description of size, colour and even its friendly nature.

Some report of Giant Black Behemoths with fiery red reptile like eyes, although looking like a Spawn out of Hell, no acts of Destruction has ever been reported by witnesses. Still there is a price on the head of this dragon that has picked up the nickname the Patriarch, those of you foolish enough to go after the title of ‘Dragon Slayer' good luck to you.

Others have reported dragon riders, a short race of evil minions trained in the art of dragon riding on smaller elemental class dragons. A mystery still remains on their Master's identity. The sinister sect known as the ‘Black Ring' usually commissions dragon riders on missions of assassination by decapitation, if a bounty is on your head, it is unlikely you can escape.

Divine Divinity is unfolding into an epic tale of Rivellon's unstable balance of Good vs. Evil. The fight takes you on a wonderful journey that will see you in dungeons' depths and meeting life threatening dragons. Some have called this RPG a ‘Dark Horse'... a genre that although saturated seems to have found some new life. So join us soon for the adventure of a lifetime.
