The Xbox version of Pirates of the Caribbean fairs a little better than the PC, managing 65% in Gamespy's review. Here's one of the closing paragraphs:
I can't impart how much wailing and gnashing of teeth the game has elicited from me, when just five minutes before or later it gives me the greatest joy. I've never seen a better game more tragically hamstrung by bugs and errors. I would say Q/A phoned in their performance, but it would probably be more correct to say that Pirates of the Caribbean was the victim of a movie release date. This is odd because, except for a cameo of the Black Pearl, and a few other moments of tie-in (including the tacked-on last battle) the game has virtually nothing at all to do with the movie. I can tell that the movie references were thrown in wherever they would go, and a final battle created to pull it together.
The curse of the movie license strikes again...
