Another hands-on preview of Troika's 'Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines' can be found at GameSpy today.
OK, you can now pronounce me officially pumped at the prospect of playing the full version of what is rapidly shaping up to be Troika's first out-and-out masterpiece since several of their founders worked on Fallout. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, the first-person RPG powered by Half-Life 2's Source engine, had its first hands-on demonstration at Fang, a gothic "vampire" club in the middle of Los Angeles. I, of course, have been eagerly following the progress of this game since the night Ed Teasdale and I played through a prelude to the game based on White Wolf's paper-and-pencil RPG. Tonight, though, was the night I was finally going to get a chance to get my grimy paws on the game. Nothing, not even a hungry werewolf, could have stopped me from showing up.
