TeamXbox have posted a hands-on preview of Gladius. Here's a bit:
The fighting system allows you to move along a multi-level grid containing boxes and such as a middle line sort of system. You may decide to control your character by commanding him/her to move, or attack. It is very strategic in that you either attack from short distances, above, or behind your enemy. This move will effect how hard and powerful your attack is. When swinging your weapon you must also stop a sliding bar (a la kicking in football games) to get your accuracy and power just right. Another RPG element of Gladius is the weapons and shields your characters carry, leveling up and purchasing new ones will put the favor on your side in each battle. You control both characters, one after the other, moving them along the grid towards your opponent. Characters can only be moved a certain amount of steps, as well as, only being able to attack from a certain length. After your character uses up his/her moves the opponent will then get their shots in, very turn-based system. |
