NL Gaming has served up a review of the 'Shadows of Undrentide' expansion for 'Neverwinter Nights'. Rating: 93%.
Bioware. With Knights of the Old Republic this one time clique developer that gained fame with the pc gaming niche, broke into the mainstream, proving that they are one of the most talented development houses in the gaming industry. Baldur’s Gate set a standard that was only raised by the extraordinary Baldur’s Gate II. While praise for Bioware is flowing freely at this moment, in my opinion, one of their more interesting CRPG experiments does not receive enough credit. Neverwinter Nights (NWN), when first announced sounded like an impossibly improbable feat. Bringing the limitless possibilities and social aspect of pen and paper RPGs into the realm of CRPGs, traditionally a solitary experience bound by pre-scripted sequences and set in stone narratives. A CRPG that gave aspiring online Dungeon Masters the power and flexibility to create a limitless amount of role playing experiences, something that was once reserved for imaginations and spoken dialogue over pizza, sodas, and beer.
