Gothic 1 first

I wouldn't play Gothic II until after I've beaten Gothic 1. Gothic II picks up where the first one leaves off.

I absolutely agree. While Gothic 2 is better in almost every way, this does not make Gothic a bad game and the story itself is worth it. Gothic 2 simply improves on some aspects of the original. Part two will be so much better when you know where you came from, because you really attach to the world and how you got there. Also, as has been said, the old friends you meet only add to the immersion and emotion involved in playing Gothic 2. I actually never got bored with Gothic 1 and this is quite amazing.

Concerning the controls, I REALLY don't understand why every reviewer in town bashes the game because of them. There is nothing wrong with them and I would actually praise the control system! It's fucking great! No, it's not Unreal Tournament, for Christ's sake. But why should every game play the same? Boring! This is a unique, original control system that simply works!

The inventory in Gothic 2 is inferior to that of Gothic 1, though. I don't understand why they put it all in one gigantic screen. It would have been fantastic if you had that screen and had it sub-divided like in Gothic 1, based on item type. But hey, let's see what Gothic 3 brings.

This game indeed amazed me. I have yet to play Morrowind for long amounts of time, since it just became boring and the world is so... hollow!

ow yes indeed u need to play 1 part first u get every single detail for Gothic series story then u can finish it 3 times with every camp so u have something to play till 3 part will come out .

After u finish Gothic 1 start Gothic 2 and pick one guild and finish the game with 1 guild . After that wait till the english expansion gets out and finish with other 2 guilds At least thats what i did but i finished the german version of gothic 2 expansion
