Just finished playing Gothic for the 2nd time last night. I played as a mage, and was 6th circle with no 2H weapon skill when Uriziel was charged. I was given the option to have Xardus remove the rune from the sword.
The 1st time I played Gothic, I played as a warrior/knight and, IIRC, was mastered in 2H weapons and 2nd circle in magic. I don't think the rune option was even offered.
So what triggers that option? 5th Circle or higher? No 2H weapon skill?
This 3rd time, I'm playing as a dirty, rotten thief, and wonder if I'll get the option. |

OK, now you have me wondering if I've done a terrible thing. I'm only in my 1st go thru Gothic, and in my uncertaintity/greed used the cheats to add levels and Skill Points to the point that I am pretty much a master of all trades. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I am 6th Circle Magician of Water, Master of all 4 weapons, Lockpicking/Sneaking/Acrobatics, Level 52.
Since I graduated thru all the camps and classes, could this be a problem that the game can't figure out in the end stages?

Exetor: you shouldn't experience any problems, but if you do, you might cheat around them  .

Gdgrimm, When you return from the new-camp with the charged Uriziel, Xardas offers the option (when you're playing as a mage) to have the gem removed from Uriziel (the gem works as a rune). You have to be a 6st circle mage to use the Uriziel rune.  |
