Another crash bug: Imperial Steel Cuirass in Ebonheart
   

so i'm overall enjoying morrowind greatly, get the occasional dump to desktop, but nothing that annoying. that was until i tried to buy and equip an imperial steel cuirass from the legion smith in ebonheart. no matter what i tried (putting it on in the smith, outside the smith, disabling hardware acceleration on my sblive 5.1 etc.) it crashes to desktop everytime i try to put the cuirass on. any suggestions or ideas? both vid (geforce 2 mx400 32 meg vid card [actually an asus v7100, but that's what the nvidia 28.32's recognize it as]) and soundcards are the newest i could find. and i'm using xp pro. rest of system specs follow:

athlon 1ghz
512 mb pc133 sdram
asus k7v (via chipset) mobo
asus v7100 vid card
sblive 5.1
40 gb maxtor hd

any help would be much appreciated!
