To what extend does Dex affect Thief Skills?
   

steal, pick pocket, sneak

cassi said that dex will improve your skills/

Dex is critical to pick pocket... the higher it is, the more 'wary' a person you can pick pocket from. Dex also determines whether or not you break a lockpick when failing at picking locks. I don't know how much, if at all, it affects stealth... though it very well might because people don't seem to wake up as often now that I have a 50 as when I had a 10...

so instead of breaking the pick it just says damn? i have noticed that that went up more when i got the 2 free dex

Your amount of Dexterity is more of a percentage. 100 Dex and you'll never break a pick.

I say 'more of a percentage', rather than it IS a percentage because you can get higher than 100.
The devs overlooked the percentages, I think. Since in skills, you can get like 120% and higher.
