You need to get the idol in order to use the level. You could insert a bow if you really don't want to waste time.

You enter marvin mode.
1. Pull up your character screen.
2. Type marvin. You won't see the text.
3. Exit the character screen.
A text message will appear in the top left hand corner of the screen saying "Marvin Mode".
4. Hit F2 to open the console.
5. Type insert itrw_bow_small_01
That will insert a short bow that you can use.
