| Questions About Heavy Armor |
|
Hey, everyone. Just a quick question about heavy armor (from someone who is planning a character in anticipation of the XBox version of the game). What strength level do you have to have in order to use heavy armor, and still comfortably carry some other items like weapons? Could a high elf (who starts with a strength of only 30) ever realistically get to that point? Do you need to have athletics as a major or minor skill in order to use heavy armor?

I'm a dark elf Knight - think im nearing level 26 or 27. Its easy to get your strength up thats not a problem - If your primary reason for leveling up used a strenth skill (eg wacking mud crabs) you get a multiplier that increases your investment in the skill. so if you use your sword alot you could be getting 5 strength every level up. Right now I have a strength of 93.
You get better at heavy armor by getting hit - strength doesn't play into it. HOWEVER- if your a fighter in the end your going to advance to Daedric Armor which is incredibly heavy. I can carry 440 or 450 lbs. and I'm always dropping great stuff which is just to much for me to carry. |

Ohh on athletics... waist of time. I am 50 at athletics now which isn't stellar but considering its not even a minor skill id say that your waisting a slot putting it in. |

I use athletics because my lizardman loves to swim. The *5 speed per level isn't bad either. Of course, I'm almost level 4 after 15 hours of play so... (too much fun exploring. Just starting to play with guild quests.)
