I don't think first person view would be any good in Gothic. I like the 3d person view... |

You have to have the english Gothic Development-Kit (not public yet)
and then you may change the values in the standard camera instance to allow the camera as near as in 'first person'.

Bah. First person in a game like Gothic would feel like Mechwarrior. Play mechwarrior and youll see how awful peripheral vision is. _________________

Is there anyone strong enough to beat the game with only rear view? _________________ =Farseer=

Do you go right? Or do you go left? A simple decision, yes? No ambiguities. Only the dream of the path not taken! And so one might stand in this place and contemplate for a long while. What will I miss if I go left? What will I lose if I go right? And in my indecision, have I chosen a worse fate? |

I think 3rd person is okaaaaay... Sure you can see the world better, but that's all controlled by the code and the camera's FOV (field of view). They can make 1st person so you can see better around you.
Haven't any of you ever been frustrated during battle when your character is blocking your view of the enemy?!!!!

I like the third person view better. It is easiler to see what your character is doing. When you are climbing or moving about it is much harder in 1st person. _________________ =Moderator of The RPGDot Shadows=

If you try Jedi knight 2 you will see that with the light saber it is clearly better with 3 person perspective. Exactly the same in gothic.
I think that gothisīs third person perspective is better then Morrowinds first person perspective.. _________________ There once was a youngster, DzD

Not really...
I think the 1st person view gives you a better view on the moves of the opponent and thus a better chance to aim and hit. (I'm an expert in using the light saber in 1st person mode in JK2) _________________ =Farseer=

depends on the game.... in morrowind you can pick first or third.... and... well gothic was just suited to third person..... just the whole style.... first person.... maybe... but its just so huge and pretty... its a lot easier to see the scope in third person. _________________ Moo. What do you mean by how?!
The game automatically changes the view mode when you switch to light saber, just manually switch back to 1st person mode again! _________________ =Farseer=
