I'm pretty sure I'm wearing the best armour I can get - I bought it from Diego. It was an improved light guard armour.
Youīll receive far better armour soon.

I am now in the search for the last of the five stones, and am once again facing ORcs in large numbers.
You are on the wrong track! You donīt even fight a single orc during the whole focus quest. Better check the map on GothicDot.

I have only the broadsword that does 55 damage, and a crossbow. Now, I cannot keep on levelling up because I've killed everything in sight. Not a skeleton, thug, scavenger, wolf, snapper - nothing is left alive except for those huge Sahdowbeast things that I can't make a dent in, and an Ice Golem, which I just ran past to get into that tower.
Donīt go there now! I hope you let all 3 golems alive?
Youīll enter this area later.

So is there better arnour and weapons at this point in the game? 2 orcs at a time = death.
True.
You still didnīt collect the sword I mentioned above. You can find the name and the location of the victim in the FAQ.
Better armour will follow after the focus quest.

I went back to the Sect camp and spoke to the Tamplar (Gor Na Rein, or something like that) standing guard against the swamp monsters, but he just tells me to go away - no dialogue option in which you can offer to help him - so no sword. So I'm stuck with my Broadsword at this point? None else has any "real" weapons worth speaking of. |

This is the correct guy. Save, then lure a swampshark to him. Chances are 50/50.
And be careful, swampsharks are dangerous. Donīt fight it, run back to the camp. |

If you think you're not strong enough to fights the orcs - no problem. Forget them. At this point of the game you should have no problems with money... Buy some increase speed potions, and just run past the orcs. You don't have to kill them... Forget them. Come back later when you get better armor.

Aha. I'd already cleared out the Mountain Fort, so all I had to do was get the stone. The telekinesis spell didn't work so I meatbugged up to the platform and got the stone. The Golem is unkillable at this point, but of course he can be run past.
Best of all, I can now kill the orcs with no problem! Even with my puny Broadsword. Dead Orc dogs, Bloodhounds and Biters lie gathering dust.
So the Orc camp is pretty much decimated AND I have the focus stones and the two level-ups that came with them. I'm starting chapter 4 at level 21, so I figure I'm going to get to a reasonably high level before the end of the game. |

Why don't you use the Orc hammer. It is in a cave with those bloodhounds. That golem is 500 very easy experience points. |

...however, I cannot get a sword from the Templar guarding for Swampsharks in the Swamp. I lured a Swampshark right to him, battled it with him and killed it right in front of him, and STILL he tells me to go away.
So I guess I'm just not going to get that sword. The Templar's name is Gor Na Ran. And he is too stupid to see that if I can KILL a swampshark in front of him with my sword while he blasts away ineffectively with his bow doing absolutely no damage, I probably don't need to run away, as he suggests. |

No! Lure the Swampshark to the Templar and let it (Swampshark) kill him (Templar). |

I would talk to s|Stone about a guards armor (if your a guard) or get your mages robe. You should also be using a two handed sword by this point (if you're a warrior). |

Hagatha man, beat one of the templers and take their sword. I always kick Koloms guard's butt for it. |
