Runes for creating one... |
|
I have problem with creating runes... I'm at chapter 2 and I learned some runes to create... but the problem is that I have no blank runes left to use... so where do I find them?
Btw... I'm thinking, which spell is the best to create: a fireball rune, fist of wind or the ice attack rune? _________________ Spam Error! |

Check with Gorax, he should have a few to buy. Unless you already have, then you must wait til you come back from VoM. Don't create ice arrow, small healing or fear. You will find those in various places. Fireball is useful in 2nd circle. I liked large fireball and ice block from 3rd circle. Destroy undead was good from 4th circle. I wouldn't bother with 5th circle spells unless you like wave of ice. There is another post in this forum with other people's opinions you could look through. I think its titled what's your rune? Not sure. BTW there's about 15 blank runes in the game, so don't make every spell you can. _________________ Just watch out you don't stress yourself out.

Fireball rune and ice attack are good. You can learn fist of wind too but I don't regard it very useful. It just push the target back(It can be very useful but at chapter 2 I really don't think is good enough to throw a runestone on her).
Runestone are very rare so don't make similar runes(for example at 1 circle fire arrow and small lightining are very much alike.) and read books in the library to see which runes you can make with circles to come(my advice is too wait till you can make a medium healing rune and not waist a runestone on heal light wounds rune which can also be found in the Orcs village when entering the valley of mines).
I would also wait with runestone you get after you get accepted in fire mages(I can't remember who gave me this runestone.Somebody in monastery that's for sure) till chapter 2 and make a fireball rune.
In chapter 2 you can get a runestone for completing a quest Snapper's Claws for Lutero(merchant in the upper quarter). He want's you to kill a special snapper in the valley of mines. That's a snapper from the quest Snapper Hunt
which will paladin Fajeth give to you.Fajeth is guarding a ore and won't give you a information how much ore he has, so you can report it to Garond unless you hunt down the snappers around the camp. You don't have to kill them all, just the pack leader.Talk to Bilgot and he will tell you where it is(you will be giving a quest Bilgot curse-you must escort Bilgot outside the valley).Kill the pack leader, take his claws(you must have hunting skill of taking claws which can be teached by Jengar who is in the camp) and bring claws to Lutero for runestone.
In later chapter you can even buy runestone from merchants in Khorinis, and if you take Milten in 5 chapter with you on the island of Indorath he will also give you a blank runestone.
Some runestones can be found in valley of mines(ice arrow rune, fear rune, heal light wounds). |

You do not require the claw-taking skill to obtain the claws. I have been playing a straight mage with everything pumped into mana, and the claws were present on the body when I looted it.
When obtaining the runestone itself from Fernando in the upper quarter, do not ask him how he is doing. If you do he will become possessed by a seeker, then attack you in front of everyone and branded a murderer. If you kill and loot him, you find an almanac of the possessed book, but i have no idea what it is for at this stage of the game. |

Finding the almanacs of the possessed is a task/mission for the Mages guild. _________________ I come from space. From outer space! |
