Good God allmighty...it's been ages since I've been as excited about a game as I am for this one. I can allready tell this is going to be one of those time-sucking priority-checkers that let me know just what an immature twit I really am. I can hear my wife now.

The only thing that I have to say is THANK ALL THAT IS HOLY! I say this not because I'm even planning to get the game any time soon but because I won't have to read another $&^@$#% preview for awhile....of course I'll be subjected to weeks worth of #($*#&% reviews. *sighs* The neverending boredom that is Oblivion.

Gimme Titan Quest and NWN2 any day.

LOL, my thoughts exactyl. With the exception that my working schedule is so laid-back that I don't have work related worries I am genuinely concerned about whether I shall be able to get my computer upgrade by that time though. If not, I'll give it a try on my current rig, nonetheless!

I'm so excited here, lucky me I'm single, for my lady would surely split up with me during this spring/summer/fall/winter whilst I'll be playing Oblivion intensively

Is it going to have the same repetitive boring crap quests?
Is the entire world going look similar in every way?
Is the combat system still the worst ever devised?
Or is it going to be another overrated pile of pooh like its predecessor?

Is it going to have the same repetitive boring crap quests? = Probably these are American devs so dont expect to much from them in terms of creativity for the quests most quests you can bet will be generic quests and just killing things like kill a bunch of rats kill a bunch of this and that etc just like in the real world with their kill kill kill mentalalities

Is the entire world going look similar in every way? = Morrowind was a terrible RPG everything did look the same everything brownish and boring and dead like god farted and craped all over the world but with Oblivions new graphics engine and if you look at the towns and places it does look different and colorful so you can bet this is one thing they have improved.

Is the combat system still the worst ever devised? = This is another thing they improved although FPS combat for melee weapons will always be stupid odd and crappy they have greatly improved it and it actually looks fun now "you can see the videos for yourself" In Morrowind melee combat was stiff boring and sloppy and took a million hits to kill anything and also the bow and arrows shot like they had 25 pounds of crap on the end terrible sounds and also felt stiff and weak specially the sound.

But if you take a look at the videos the sword play is more Action packed more fun it looks like a real battle now slashing the crap swords bashing against shields looks fun gotta admit and they also greatly improved the bow and arrow by the looks of things it actually looks feels and sounds and shoots like a real bow and arrow it doesnt take 3 hours to fully pull back the arrow now and it makes that twirle type arrow sound like in the movies and shoots fast so it looks very fun and improved compared to the garbage in morrowind.

Or is it going to be another overrated pile of pooh like its predecessor? = Most likely besides the nice graphics you're basicly gonna have the same game as morrowind with a more fun Combat system its pretty sure its gonna have the same generic boring crap quests like i previously noted these are American devs so dont expect much from them.

Its just hyped by them and fanboys the game will have it its problems shortcommings and boring factor like morrowind you can bet and it wont be the best RPG of the year that will be Gothic 3 but i can bet Oblivion will be fun just nothing amazing like the fanboy kiddies rave about you saw how upset they got when one reviwer said the game had FPS and draw distance problems it was like their whole world ended and broke their little hearts haha.

It has been hard trying not to fall into the rather large black hole of hype this game has generated over the past few months. As a longtime Elder scrolls fan, it's even more difficult for me then it is for the folks who joined in when Morrowind arrived.

I have seen quite a few negative posts here, and I can see where the naysayers are coming from. After all, to the Elder Scrolls faithful, Morrowind was a very disappointing game. Especially when you compared it to Daggerfall and Arena. With its tiny dungeons, over-simplified combat, the removal of several character creation options, and the lack of intelligence in its NPC (Staying outdoors 24/7? Not locking their house behind them?) the game really felt fake to me.

I actually wrote an article about that a few years back and RPGdot reported on it. ( http://www.rpgdot.com/index.php?hsaction=10077&newsid=14706 )

Between trying not to fall into the "drooling-on-the-keyboard" hype and reminding myself that I shouldn't judge the game by its previous installment, I have been driving myself crazy waiting for this game.

What I'm trying to say is, I worry that Oblivion will be another Morrowind, rather then another Arena/Daggerfall. The only difference is that I'm trying to stay positive and give Bethesda the benefit of the doubt.

Yep thats what im saying like i said above the game is going to be alot like Morrowind the thing that stands out the most about Oblivion and why alot of people Auotmaticly think its going to be the best game ever is simply the graphics they look at the graphics and automaticly think its the best game ever when they are forgetting the fate Morrowind had i thought the graphics in Morrowind were Alright the Characters were very blurry the water was very nice though and the music was very very good but that was it.

I just see Oblivion as a Morrowind on much better Graphics Engine and a fast paced more fun combat system i am really sure its gonna have that boring factor like Morrowind roaming around / the quests.

Hopefully not but lets not forget Morrowind well will see in 18 days i will also write a review of the good and bad on the game but not after a few measly hours we will at least need to play it for a couple days i mean writing reviews over completing the tutorial and one quest is pretty laughable.

I think the game is a travesty. I think they improved upon morrowind, but craped all over DF. But I'll still get it one day. I think Jade empire and Fable are travesties as rpgs, but they were fun games for the few hours of escape they gave you.

When x-box 360's are $50 on e-bay in a couple years, I'll get one and play all the fake but fun craptastic "rpgs" on it by renting them. I won't buy them as PC games because I don't want crap like this made for the pc.

I guess devs get the least amount of money by you renting a game, good revenge for them making crap rpgs. And I'm easily impressed when it comes to graphics, so it will still make me eww and aghh in a couple years at the super duper graphics.

Jeez. The negativity is amazing. Hope none of you never develop testicular cancer. If the disease doesn't get you, you're negativity will.
