I don't remember the details too well, but there were plenty of lizard men in the later parts of GII.

The first place you meet them is in the Valley of Mines in Gothic II.. they were not in Gothic 1.

I thought I haven't seen them...

So where did the pibture and the question of the topic opener came from?

Actually, there is one place where there are only Lizard men with no dragon at the area.

First found these lizardmen at level 13. They kicked my patooie. Next time I met them I was level 25. Let me tell you, they SUCK! Their weapon sells for like 9 gold. There's nothing to loot from them, and you get 230xp from them. Cheap bastids

No, they give you 350XP, but they are not as good as the Orc Elite(which also gives you 350XP). They are somewhere inbetween Orc Elite and Orc Warrior, but personally I feel they are much more fun to fight!

Yes, the Lizard men were quite fun to fight, unless there were a dozen of them....

Somebody must have used the cheat mode to insert them there because that area looks like Khorinis mountains - and as far as i know, the Lizard men never show up in "new world" Khorinis.

Agreed. Draconians (i.e. lizard men) only wander around dragon's lairs.

I saw this screenshot long long ago -- probably during the time when G2 was still in early developmental stage. So, I think this pic gives us no accuracy at all because lots of things change during the development stage.

Anyway, here's another one of those contradicting pics. It shows a paladin hero, who is talking to a rogue hero at the waterfall beside Xardas' tower. The pic is stolen from RPGDot's gallery.

You know what, I take my comment back about Lizmen not being in the new world. To reveal what I found out would be spoilers, but I'll say this:

Look around *everywhere* in Chapter 5. You may find a surprise. Especially close to where you begin the game (HINT).

P.S.
I reloaded an old savegame to check something out and discovered this by accident.
