Gothic 2 Addon Review @ Rebell.at (German)

Gorath has also pointed us to a German review of Gothic 2: Die Nacht des Raben (The Night of the Raven) at Rebell.at. It seems to be the first review of the addon on the net and the score of 93% bodes well. Here's the link.

I'm over-joyed that its going to be tougher.Gothic 2 was a little difficult but only at the beginning.I'm also pleased that another 30 hours is added to my play-time.I think adding teleporters and other ways to pick up ways to improve your character is great thinking on the part of the devs. All in all this expansion will elevate the Gothic World to the top of the rpg charts. The price(24.99 euros at amazon.de) is also a fair price for an expansion.

Yeah, it's great they lifted the difficulty for the whole game not only the expansion part. I hope the dragons are a bit more challenging now.

I just got the e-mail saying that amazon.de shipped my copy of the add-on. Am I glad that I can read German

I hope you can also play the add-on after you finished the game (like I did).

as requested by hoyp, here's the translation of the conclusion at least:

"It's Addon-Time! After fans of addons were enthusiastic with WC3: Frozen Throne and NWN: Shadows of Unrendtide, we now introduce the master piece par exellance.

Gothic 2: The Night of the Raven further improves the game which was rated best by us. Unfortunately (?) you can't separate Addon and the main program, that's why we give an overall rating for a new game actually.

Who does not yet own Gothic 2, despite the praises it has received so far, should finally buy it along with the addon, And if you like athmospheric games with a lot of gameplay depth just a little onl,y that's an order!"

The rest of the addon praises the game furhtermore, and tells how to access the addon...

@Sudiar: You have to start over, but can go directly to the addon part without having to replay the main story...
