Hello,

I have a Dell system with 1 GHz, 384 MB, GeForce 256 64 MB DDR, SBLive!, and Windows XP (home).

I was playing for a short time without problem, then (after I acquired Mud) I began to notice that NPC
voices were not always heard. I continued on in the game, and came to a point where I bascially could
not interact with items or people. I got into one combat and could not kill the creature (although I could
swing and hit it), also, the creature I was fighting could not damage me. After this happened (I ran away)
the Esc key would not work to access the menu, and I could not leave the game without Ctrl-Alt-Del.

When I reloaded my save game, the game was frozen in an area which looked like a green-walled dungeon.
I've seen this dungeon a few times when I hit buildings at odd angles, but rotating a little bit would return
the view to normal.

This problem ate my only save game, good thing I wasn't too far into the game.

Any suggestions? (I e-mailed a copy of this note to tech support already)

Have you:
Updated your Soundblaster Live! drivers from http://www.creative.com?
(NEEDED for all games when you use XP!)

Updated your Graphic Board drivers from http://www.nvidia.com?
(NEEDED for Gothic)

To 'get back' you might want to try this cheat:
Enter your status screen (so you see the character stats) (defeult "S")
type marvin
Exit the status screen again (default "S")

Now you can press the letter "K" on the keyboard to make a forward jump. Try moving yourself "into" the map again.

Best Regards

Yes, all drivers are most recent.

I'll try the work around. Thanks.

I havnt heard anything similiar to your problem... If the K ' thing doesnt help, I hope the tech support can help you. Or perhaps Gorath can...

I do know about the 'major' bugs in Gothic, wich as far as I know 3 in total, and you are not likely to fall into one if you dont explore alot...

A really strange problem.
I donīt know how to help you. All I can say is uninstall, defrag, reinstall. Then restart (or try your savegame).
Rotate your saves and avoid any contact to Mud.

K didn't work.

I'll try restarting and hope for the best.

I defragged right before installing the first time (SOP for me now).

Thanks, maybe tech support can come up with something. Maybe I just had bad luck.
