The only complicated quest in the game. You get the first book in the Fog Tower in the east. It contains a clue on the location of Book two, etc.

See the Chromanin thread.

Each book you read unleases a clue on where the next book is located.

On GothicDot is a map with the solution. The quest is connected to the focus search.

If you just want to do it without knowing the answers beforehand - just go into the Fog Tower and kill everything until you get to the "end" - you will get a book (the first of the Chromanin books). Read it - there is a "clue" (if it can really be called a clue) to the second book - and so on. Do NOT expect clues that really make any sense or that you can really follow.

I desire the ultimate enlightenment! I desire...

CHROMANIN!!!

Not that I have the slightest clue what, if anything, "Chromanin" is!
