Morrowind as an FPS

I know I'm going to get flamed for this one, but as with most of my posts, this is just an observation or a curious inquiry.

I'm sure you've all noticed by now how quickly enchanted items can cast their effects. Now, if you were to enchant various rings with low mana cost destruction spells, put in a winged twilight gem or something with LOTS of charges, and equip them to a character with 100 speed, 100 strength, 100 acrobatics, and 100 athletics, could you see how Morrowind could almost be an FPS?

Just an observation, brought to you by some guy.

I guess you could, and I guess it's very possible to play this game as an FPS. But why would you?
I don'T think you'd be doing yourself a favour by playing this game like an FPS. It would wear itself thin VERY quickly...

You could...

create your own mod to do this. Create a new outdoor area with tons of hostile critters, and start a new character. Have a teleport right outside of the customs office, and a chest that has potions/items/spells that give you the 100's in your skills and the spells you need. Then teleport and have fun.

I might look into it, see if you can create any massive battles. Can you get NPC's to fight one another through the editor?

Well, that really wasn't my intention. If I wanted to play an FPS I wouldn't be playing Morrowind. I'm just saying that it was interesting how close Morrowind could be to an FPS (it'd be nice to have an FPS with as beautiful an environment as Morrowind). I don't have any plans on doing anything crazy like that.
