anywhere else to download the mods, besides fileplanet?

just curious, I need a different place to download these mods, that are coming up, like the bobba fett armor and unique helm thingy.

fileplanet is unreliable, it bites the biggy. just trying to describe how much fileplanet sucks, can get you banned from the most patient and tolerant of message boards, and it would still be an understatement

Use Flashget AKA jetcar. When you get that "your download is ready" window, just drag that link into flashget, and there is NO chance it will ever stop downloading and break. And flashget is free.

altho download breaking is a huge problem, my other concern, is that waiting. even off peak hours, it tells me 55 minutes. now I am not sure if that is not true, but I dont wanna wait that long, Im patient, but not patient to wait over half an hour for a 2 minute download

and I sure as hell wont pay them for their so called "premiere" servers

I kind of assume that Fileplanet is part of the Gamespy network, and I refuse to have anything to do with a company that has been installing spyware on gamer's PC's for years (until the latest version of Gamespy). Did you know that installing Baldur's Gate requires the installation of Gamespy with it's embedded spyware? When I pay for, install and play a game I don't expect it to gather information from my PC and upload it to friggin marketing weasels. It's like having the Domino's delivery guy making alist of the contents of your house while he drops off a pizza.
They can kiss my shiny white arse. Anything that is only available for download from Fileplanet is not available for download.

Odd, odd indeed, as i have never gotten spyware from gamespy nor baldur's Gate, but then again i have all the firewalls & popup killers i need.
As far as the waiting times in fileplanet go, i think my max waiting time has so far been 2 minutes or less. And i HAVE downloaded for about 1GB of stuff there. I still hate the place though, so if there are alternatives, let me know too.

Odd indeed. How do you know? Do you run AdAware regularly?
It was actually a dev on the NWN board that pointed out that the latest version of Gamespy(which will be used in NWN), unlike previous versions, does *not* have a spyware component (he checked with AdAware).
