A good start!

I think one of the best way to start the game is:
1- Get everything from Xardas's tower(including the secret switch on the fireplace to open the secret room)
2- Go down the road turn left where the lake is to find a coarpse with stuff on him, it's left from the waterfall.
3- Get in the cave by the small dock at the same lake, but be careful and this is for people good at Gothic fighting technic, not for beginners since at this point goblins and field raiders are a pain.
go through the whole cave and exit on the other side.
4- Clear that area find Lester clear the cave near Lester. Go back up towards the cave and through it to the other side where the lake is.
5- Do the Bandit quest on your way to the farm, dragging out one at a time so they won't kill you, but they're still hard.
6- Do all the farm quest, accept Canthar's deal
7- Don't go near the entrances of the town yet
8- Go around to you're right in the trench keep going along the town past the 2nd gate keep going on your right there will be a way up the hill that goes to the lighthouse, but don't go near the light house or you'll get easyly killed, instead, keep your left go towards the trees until you can't get any further or you'll fall off the cliff, then climb on the mountain top, go left towards the town, jump down on the lower part of the cliff in front of you, and after to your left on the city wall and then on the boxes next to the wall. While in town go to the dock where the paladins ship is, go to the dock in front of the ship to find 2 old coins(you'll need them later to end your good start)
9- talk to Lares before anyone else for 500xp and asking you how you got in.
10- Go right away with him on his guided tour, on you're way try to go before him and get that orc out of his cave hidden in the woods on your left when you go out of town on the right path, Lares will fight it for you and you'll get the XP, keep going with Lares and at destination don't talk or go near him. Instead clear the area by bringing monsters to him. Go towards the past talk to the hunter there to get the creature quest, keep going on the left of the waterfall, find the snapper and bring it to Lares, towards Onar's farm there's a cave filled with black goblins pest, bring 'em to lares. End lares quest.
11- Go to Onar's farm sell all you have to Cipher. Kick his ass, get your stuff back, do that a couple of time until you feel you're rich enough and it won't affect anything in the game since they like to fight.
12- get in the house guarded by 2 mercenaries talk to Wasili, he'll buy your old coins for gold and XP each time. So kick his ass get them back talk to Lee pay the fine and do this all over for major XP, Oblivion scolls work too...

I think this is one of the best start.

u missed something at the begining....
if you go up to where the library is and drop down ( left i think) you go behind the tower, otherwise not reachable if you start at the bottom and go around, and find a corpse with stuff, i scroll and i think also a potion dont remember exactly

Yeah you're right.
I didn't remember it had something hidden there that's why I didn't mention it!
there's also the top of the bandit cave that you can climb up and get in the back for some stuff.

but uhave to be carefull not going too far in the lower plateau behind the bandit cave ... lizards and wargs are tough when your level 1 lolllll

BTW in Chapter 2 its a good idea to revisit it.... look carefully and you'll find a nice surprise between two trees

Ill give yall a hint ....starts with amulet and finishes with of dexterity +10

Actually, if you pass the lighthouse as far left as you can, really close to the cave with the Shadowbeast, turn toward the ocean and run and jump, with a few tries you can make it to the water. There is a little beach with lizards that you can kill with some firebolts, 2 each should do. You'll find some goodies and get expirence, then head to town, then the docks, and you'll get around 750 expirence extra on the way.

If you wait until the shadowbeast is asleep you can sneak right up to it to get the first hits on it.

I don't think you can kill it at level three or whatever you are at that point in the game.

I was higher than level three a that point, though still fairly low.

Due to the nature of the combat it is possible to kill most of the creatures in the game whenever you want, if you don't mind spending forever in the battle. I've tried a few low level challanges when I had enough practice, such as taking on trolls too early. It can be fun and add a new twist to the game if you are bored of killing everything in one or two hits.

yeah trolls can be beaten at level 1 with a heavy brnach its fairly easy. Hit striffe left, hit striffe right etc etc .

But even at chapter 5 now i still havent figured out how not to get hit by shadowbeasts. Altho i havent seen one in a while now,i guess its was prolly cuz i wasnt moving around enough.

If I have magic, I have managed to kill some really powerful creatures at like level one. Just throw a few fireballs or firebolts and charge and kill. That is how I take on most enemies in the beggining of the game. I don't dare to fight a shadowbeast though, they are tough at high levels.

You can also climb the wall next to the gate you'll reach after leaving Lobart's farm. That's a tiny bit safer than going to the lighthouse.

I actually never even knew you could do that up until like a month ago. I knew you could get into town via other ways, but not up the wall. I still say run past the lighthouse. You won't get killed if you don't stop.
