Question on Old camp map and looking behind you

Somewhere I thought I read something about pressing 'M' and seeing where you are when looking at the old camp map. But, that doesn't seem to work. On the map to the old mine you can see where you are. Can't you do the same with the old camp map? Also, I read in the readme that pressing 'R' shows what is 180 degress behind you. Doesn't seem to work either. Can someone shed some light on this or does anyone know of any other keys which might make Gothic a little easier to comprehend? Thanks.

Yes, it is possible to look to the side of you while standing still, and behind you while running forward.

Unfortunately, the keyboard command to initiate this has been found to vary from system to system. Some have only had success with the R key, the F key, or one of the two 0 (zero) keys on their keyboards (the 0 key on the keypad section of my keyboard worked for me).

Once you find it, however, it's hard not to use it. I always found it handy to see just how close that Orc was behind me, or just how long it took a snapper to catch up with it's new found meal.

Not so fast, Daedalus. I can do the 180 degree look behind you. You have to be moving to do it. I can use "R" or "F" to do it.

It works with F (for first person) and R (third person) .

For me it did first-person with both keys.
