I've got the game and inside the cd cover it says that the manual is in downloadable .pdf format and to visit xicat.com for more info. welll, BTDT and I can't find it. Could someone help point me in the right direction?

Forget about the manual, it´s a POS. You can download it from http://www.xicat.com . Click on Gothic in the left menu and scroll down.

The manual is incomplete. Better get the FAQ from GothicDot:

Only read the part about the controls. Especiallly the walkthrough contains MEGA spoilers which would ruin this great game for you.
