i was running it on my p3 500 with a riva tnt 16mb and it was "playable" at 800x600 with 1/2 or less view distance. I then got the GF4 64mb and it is pretty smooth; better than "playable" . I never experienced any weird stuff like you are describing with the TNT though.

I've been playing around with it and it seems to have something to do with the shadows cast on the ground by the clouds the raytraced shadows cast by characters and such are fine, but those from the clouds seem to be causing the error, so I guess what I'd like to know is if I can turn these off unless you guys can come up with a better way to fix it.

Even if I turn the shadows off (either with the in game slider, or by adjusting the ini shadow settings) they are still there. I also tried to turn the clouds off, thinking this would remove the shadows, but even when I turned the cloud percentage of every weather type to 0 they were still just as thick as ever.

Its totally playable (5-20fps) with the settings I have now but when that stupid glitch sets in it drops suddenly to >5fps. It seems to start up most often in towns, or when moving from an interior cell to an exterior cell.
