RPGDot Feature: Initial Impressions on E3: Part 1 |
|
Josh 'Moxie' Sprague came back from E3 chock full of material from the world's biggest gaming expo. This first article has some short impressions from a smattering of RPGs, MMOs and Adventures, with more impressions, detailed previews and more to come. Here's a snip:
Being handed my first press pass was a fairly golden experience and the fact that this pass was for E3 made it all the much more. My itinerary was chock full of interviews and I tried my darnedest not to be star struck or late (both of which I failed at some points). Regardless, there was a extensive roster of titles showing this year and the odds are in the RPG fan's favor that there will be at least one satisfying game coming in his or her near future.
Read it all here. |

Thanks for the article, but my comment is that E3 is full of:
- Different platforms - PC, console, handheld
- Different genres
- Even within RPG, there are RTS hybrids, MMO's, etc
And *none* of that is in the article - how would I know what platform, what genre, etc any of these are - unless I already know the game (like Guild Wars).
If you could augment your observations with some more specifics, that would be great.

As a PC-centric site, these are all PC games. The intention of the article is to give a quick overview of the games Moxie looked at on his first day at E3, with more detailed individual previews to come. _________________ Editor @ RPGDot |

That makes sense - but when I saw 'Twisted Metal' I got confused as that is at least on the PSP (so I assume PS2 as well).
The thing I love already is that it is so much different from the hype driven drooling from the 'mainstream' gaming media!
