I think, it is lie.
When you play this game first time and you really do everything and visit every corner of world under bariere, I think you can reach 40 - 50 hours.
But we must say if we are talking about play time with loading and trying things again or without it. There is no much thing I tryied many times but some...

add another two hours for repositioning camera in perfect angle to look at their cleavage...
then another two to look at the scrubbing girls ass
and then there's TBerion's chick...another 4 hrs there
you see...100+ hrs of gaming fun adding up right before your eyes |

They lied about multiple endings as well. Maybe they meant 100 hours by the game's clock? About 4 days in the game? |

Did they say multiple endings?? I don't recall seeing that..if they did, isn't that just a blatant lie??
I mean..for the 100 hours, maybe for someone who has never touched a PC before..to learn the controls, the interface, how to interact with monsters/npcs.. maybe then..
but multiple endings?? c'mon..

Like most people, I assumed you hurried this game, as did I. I finished it the first time in about 40 hours. I was very impatient and the game was so good, I was dying to see what each day would bring. But I did not do all the quests. I teleported around alot.
But, I have since been playing it over and over again. So even if I didn't take 100 hours the first time, I have taken more than 200 altogther.
Hell, I finished Max Payne in about the same time.
It is very dificult for me to savor the moment. Am I greedy for wanting more and more?
I swear, the next game I get I will take my sweet time to finish. Without using cheats.
I am currently plying Castle Wolfenstien.

So you are very quick.
In standart non-linear RPG is time for shortest way to end maybe 10times shorter than if you visit every place and do every quest.
Gothic is not so non-linear but if you want to do everything and kill every creature...

I got 81 hours aot of the game.
If you play each of the camps, its like 27 hours.
Throw in mabe 20 hours of cheats, and youre all set...

When someone writes 100+ hours of gameplay, every normal player will think - so if I start this game, I will finish it after 100 - not I will start this game, after I will finish it, I will start it again with slightly different story and if I try everything possible, it will be 100 hours.
Gothic is great game, there is no reason to promote it with lies such as 100+ hours of gameplay, multiple endings etc.
