Thief 3 becomes Thief: Deadly Shadows? |
|
Bluesnews is reporting that EB Games has changed the listing for Thief 3 to "Thief: Deadly Shadows". No sign of this on any of the official sites I checked but EB don't usually change these things on a whim. |

Nice move, Ion Storm.
So when fans start complaining that you ruined Thief3, you can say "Hey, that WASN't Thief3 !" |

Egad... methinks this smells like the crosshairs of the marketing division are settling on the console market... oh dear. _________________ He killed fifty to his left and fifty to his right. He did not think it too many. |

what'S your problems, guys?
Thief 1 was called Thief: Dark Project, part 2 was Thief 2: Metal Age, so why not name part 3 Thief: Deadly Shadows????? |

Since the shadows will kill the framerate just like in DX:IW, it's a fitting name.
But here it'll probably be called "Dark Project III", since the local marketing guys can't pronounce "Thief". |

Makes sense, as the first 2 games were never released on X-Box. Doesn't really make any difference to me, as after Invisible War there is no way I'll buy Thief 3 anyway. And I loved the first 2 games.
I wonder does Ion Storm regret their decision to piss off their core market. Deus Ex 2 wasn't in either X-Box or PC sales charts, and the X-Box had a pretty quiet christmas gameswise. |
