this is a terrific set of articles, minus the mandatory Dragon Age plugs.
I have half a mind to load it up again and get deliberately sidetracked on all those quests that I never do.
The author makes an interesting analogy between this 300+ hour behemoth and the amount of time players play MMORPG's - while today's single player RPG's are lucky to get 30 hours of quality time. |

I think such a vast and varied RPG as BG2 was in it's time, is yet to be seen again. I couldn't even finish Throne of Baal because it was just too epic...
If i had to choose between Kotor, NWN or BG2 i would go for BG2..
This 3d AD&D RPG's just don't cut it for me. If i want an 3d RPG i'd rather play Gothic or something else. |

*Fondly reminisces about her time playing BG2...*
I'm tempted to reinstall it now. Pity I don't have time for it. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

I have it installed and play two hours every week, point is that you get bored of your party that way and always want to start anew before you finish. Haven't seen the throne of blood in ages _________________ If you can't debate without namecalling then don't bother visiting us. -Myrthos |

BG2 is more of a marathon game you play when you have the time to play 20 hours a day. Like during the major holidays.
My personal record was 5 days, if I remember right. The entire game, start to finish with all quests completed. It was great! _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

aaah yes, the memories, playing BG2 hours and hours straight without even noticing the time. We need more games like this! ( ) _________________ If you can't debate without namecalling then don't bother visiting us. -Myrthos |
