Sorry, just had to use that Cheers(usa t.v. sitcom from the 80's)reference there.
Well, finished the game awhile back, messed around with some cheats after winning, and am now reflecting back on the awesome and cool experience that was Gothic.
As I said in a previous thread before, my favorite line from the game where some old npc would comment during a fight "That was a good hit!" It still makes me laugh.
Also had fun using the no damage from falling exploit to lure monsters off high cliffs and watch them fall to their deaths. Hehe. Some of the orcs actually looked like they were skydiving as they fell.
One thing that was interesting, was spawning an orc slave and taking control of him and playing as him. Of course the npc's just say "Not now." when you try to talk to them. But it's still fun. You can pick up weapons and equip them. You can even equip armor too, but it looks deformed and bizarre(with the heavy guard armor)and even one suit that I put on(one of the other guard types of armor)made me invisible, except for my head. I got a good laugh out of that one, seeing an orc head running around, then up to an npc in new camp, then the floating orc head draws a sword and attacks. Too funny.
Another funny thing I noticed is that if you spawn a skeleton and take control of him, you can jump higher than normal and get places you might not normally get as the main character. Also, when you are chasing someone, and you attack them while running, you do a flying kick. When was the last time you saw a skeleton do a flying kick? That was too cool.
P.S. Was interesting to note that not once was the main character's name mentioned during the game, and no one seemed to care what your name was. The only time the game came close to revealing it was at the beginning where you try to tell Diego your name, but he cuts you off
Anyone else have any interesting memories from the game to share?
