Beta in the Wilderness says "disarm the bomb"?

I talked to Beta on the way up to the Castle? He says we will meet up after I collected the three items (I have those now) and after I disarm the bomb in the Tower at Arnika. I went back to Arnika, and I can't find the bomb in the tower. Can I assume that if I followed the story line that I probably did this along time ago? Memory isn't my strong suit.

Disarming the bomb is one of the last things I did before going to Ascention Peak. You should remember a puzzle involving colored rods if you've done the bomb. If not, make sure you go back and do it. You're in the home stretch!

The teleporter to the inside of the bomb tower is in the Rapax castle, in the King's apartment, there's a really tiny keyhole next to a trophy mount.

You don't HAVE to disarm the bomb. It will lead you to a different ending if you don't. I know I plan on viewing the undisarmed ending at some point. (Well, let me finish my first game first since I'm at A.P.) Maybe you want to do what I did: save right before you leave to disarm the bomb, and then do a new save so you can finish the game both ways from that point.

Yes, it is optional to disarm this bomb. I did it, because I always tend to save all I can in PC games :].
