Hi everybody, I got a problem with Morrowind, or rather with it's
patches. Morrowind runs fine (I think I got an European Version, as I
bought it here) on my Windows ME, GF4 4400, Athlon 2000+ system,
but as soon as I apply a patch and I start up again, the program
crashes soon after the initial screen, with the message:
morrowind causes an error in morrowind.exe
(The kind of all-explaining message we usually get from MS)
Bethesda's own service department can't help me with this, they
advised me to close down all background programs which I did,
with the same result.
For me this means playing an unpatched game with no plug-ins,
and I hesitate to buy 'Tribunal' when it comes out.
Has anybody encountered the same problems and, more importantly,
did you get it fixed? |

Have you tried with the US patch? I bought the game here in Spain (manual in spanish, game in english), and the european patch gave me problems too. But the US one worked perfectly. |

I've fixed it, with a little help from the Bethesda Troubleshooters,
and a lot of trying from my side.
Thanks for the help anyway.
I don't think that the US patch will work on the European version.
I've tried that (believe me, I've tried A LOT) already. It just returns
me an error message: 'can't find the right file' or something.
I think you bought an import copy. |
