and it will last alot longer as i can play it online..
can anyone tell me if Asherons call 2 is a PvP??

Dont get that game unless all you want is eye candy. And even then expect to be bored with that very quick. AC2 is completely empty and dull.

Its a PvP as much as any MMORPG is nowadays....

Bring back the days of good old UO. (Not the current crappy UO)

UO = Ultima Online

It was the first great MMORPG. The coolest thing about it was that anyone could PvP anywhere. It was so cool running around as a newbie and actually being terrified that something actually intelligent could come out of the forest and attack you at any moment.

The only safe place was town. Which is how it should be. Nowadays all MMORPG are just little girls tea party's. There isnt any danger. I am sorry but I cant get scared of a creature that just mindlessly walks up to me and hits me untill I kill it. Walking away when it gets hurt a certain amount is not AI.

There were dungeons and stuff just like the other MMORPG's nowadays, but the threat of other evil players was always around every corner.

There were REAL evil people in UO, not just retarded computer controlled creatures. But they ruined all that a long time ago and now all the people left. I think they introduced some of the PvP stuff back, but it will never be like it was in the "Good old days".

*Shed's a tear for a dying legend*...

And if that wasnt enough, you could actually do stuff other than fight. You can build your own house, start a business. Make clothes, furniture, etc. It was just such an immersive world.

WOW does look good. But its 90% Non-PvP, which sucks.

I dont think there will ever be another MMORPG like UO. Not in the way it used PvP anyway. There are way too many whiners out there who cry about being killed.

The problem is, the people who like PvP dont tend to say anything, and the people who whine do nothing else but whine. So all the developers hear is that people hate PvP, which is not true...

hmm..WHAT THE HELL IS THE POINT IN A MMORPG if there is no PvP!!!!!!!
lol..what, do people like to talk on a mmorpg or something..cant they do that on msn messenger or something..lol..thats a load of crap.
a real nice PvP would be the only reason i would buy a MMORPG!!!

I agree completely.

Problem is, most people with a desire to speak their minds disagree...

On a brighter note:

Although not really a MMORPG, PlanetSide look pretty cool. More like a MMOFPS.

Never played that, but from what I heard it sounds similar.

I think PlanetSide is meant to be on a much larger scale. And its Sci-Fi

Fileplanet has a beta going on at the moment. I think you have to be a member to take part though.

Heres some info on the game:

[Edit]

I just checked and the beta test has gone public. Better hurry though cuz fileplanet only has so many keys.

I just need to say that if you're going to play planetside, you need to sign up for the beta, and then they pick you out of lots of people if they think you sound good.

ACtually the first great graphical mmorpg was called neverwinter nights.

Based on the DArk sun engine, which in truth was a lot like the old gold box series from SSI.

It was available from the newfangled company called aol.
