Has anyone played Avernum(any version) and would recomend it?

I played Avernum 2 and loved it. It reminded me a little of the early Ultimas (in terms of graphics, sound, large world and fun gameplay). I just started Geneforge and I'm enjoying that one too.
You can get demos of Spiderweb Software games here. If you enjoy a good story, good character creation and development, and don't have to have the latest graphics and sound, then I highly recommend these games. Try the demos.

I agree 100% with Val. Avernum 1 and 2 are great games, and don't require GeForce4 action to have a seriously addicting experience. Nethergate is another great one, in my mind even a bit better than the Avernums. Haven't tried Geneforge yet, but I look forward to doing so. |

Thanks, I will give the demo a try. A3 is coming out at the end of Sept, according to the website.
