Crossing the goodie line in gothic isnt quite as same as in fallout 2: Some old woman asks for help and you say: Give me all your money or i will follow you and kill you when you are not prepared.

Of course people think you are bad when you beat someone up on a local fare.
Is it possible to kill all citizens and then pay a little fine?

Sure, just make sure nobody that is immortal sees you and kill all the other witnesses.

Or if you are goodie goodie, just kill them when they are isolated, asleep, or whatever, and if there are witnesses, Oblivion them. O.k. so not goodie goodie but more moral then "kill, kill, kill.(Evil, insane laugh)
I prefer the to think that the hero was wrongfully imprisoned and is actually a great protector of the realm. No killing.
