| Key for a locked chest in a tiny cave near a broken cart ? |
|
After the steps wich leads to Akil,s farm, under an arch i found a broken cart, two skeletons lying around , lots of gold coins, arrows, a pitch, mandible, some rusty swords. a wolf's tooth sword and a tiny cave with a locked chest that needs only a key to open it.
So where can i find the key for this particular chest ?

I found the chest but no the key, and no NPC know anout this chest....  |

I found the same chest, I figured it'd be on one of the long dead guys around the outside, but it wasn't. |

I am fairly sure I saw someone mention that it was a quest linked to the monastery, possible requires you to go the mage route. Think they also said all it had in was a blank rune. |

I'm playing as a mage. I have to pass the Test of Fire. A member of the High Council gave me a key and said, that i have to find the end of the path. I thougth that this key will open tha chest (which you are talking about) but it wasn't opened it.

The chest contains a blank rune stone. You will get a quest from a merchant in the high part of Khorinis if you are a mage and if you do this quest you will get the key..

Do you remember which mechant and how to trigger the quest ?
One can always use an extra runestone

I think the quest is triggered when you are able to go to the mines at start of chapter 2. I can't remember the merchants name but he was one of the higher citizens at the area where Lord Andre resides. Just ask everybody who is not a commoner. Blank runes are quite rare. There are only about 15 in the game.

Oh I remember. There is a merchant who wants information about the 'Orc situation' in the Valley, the reward is class dependant (a Runestone in the case of a magician). I guess it is the same runestone we are talking about.

Yes, that's the one. He promises to give you a rune stone and when you do the quest and claim your reward he gives you the key for the chest.
