I am in the Xardas Chapter (4 i believe)
In this Chapter I was finally able to get the head of the Mercenaries to teach me 2Handed Weapons Level 1 Skill. I have been using a 2Handed Cavalorn Blade as my main weapon since Chapter 2.
As soon as I upgraded my 2Handed Weapon skill, the Sword became utterly worthless. Now, it takes *FOREVER* to make a second swing. When I had no training in this skill at all, then I could make multiple swings right after each other.
It leaves me wondering, it it possible I got a corrupt version of Gothic in which the 2Handed Weapon Skill was *already* being utilized by the game before I got trained in it, and then after I got trained in it the game somehow reverted the Skill *backwards* to Untrained?
I can not think of any other logical explanation as to why my Blade used to swing just fine, and now it takes at least fives seconds in between swings....?
As well, I did the Xardas quest and saved the Orc Shaman etc. So I am supposed to teleport back to Saturas and report to him.
As soon as I do, he says to me: "did you meet Xardas?"
my choices are something like:
"things are not how you think..."
"well..."
No matter which response I take, my character always ends up saying "well... the Ore Mound is really high!" instead of telling Saturas about Xardas like I want him to. What's up with that? I keep getting a Failed Mission Journal Entry each time with any response I give to Saturas. That sucks. Is Gothic supposed to be like this? Are you *required* to fail the Xardas Mission? |

I never had any with 2 handed sword fichting. Remember, to make a combo you have to press the action button (default 'up')at the end of the first swing. check your status and look if the 2 handed skill is Master or Untrained. If that doesn't work than maybe its a bug or maybe you do have a corupt version of Gothic. |

myabe you've just reached a part of the game that really pushes your system? try turning te settings down before you get into big fights, I had similar problems before I upgraded, the character does't react to my commands very quickly at certain parts of the game _________________ =High Shadow of the RPGDot Shadows=

There is no way you can pass the Xardas quest, it would screw up the story anyway _________________

From what you say, you have no problems with the story. The hero never does explain to Saturas that their escape plan was worthless. From what I remember Xardas should have sent you to find the Orc Shamen Ur-Shak by now. If he didn't then there's probably something wrong. He he did though, then there's nothing to worry about . |

That's the way it is for your character in the colony. The first camp you visit is the Old Camp, and they end up performing genocide on their mages and start killing everyone that moves. Your first real missions help the Swamp Camp discovery their worshipping a demon. And now you actually expect your character to tell the New Camp that they're plan is worthless and their stuck inside the barrier forever?
Besides, in another chapter or two, Saturas isn't going to want to say anything at all to you..... |
