Another review of Ascaron's 'Sacred' can be be found at CGNO. The score is 4.5/5 and here's the intro:
If you’re like me and probably many other Diablo enthusiasts then you must already have your personal opinion of the infamous cow level in Diablo II. Personally, I thought it was hilarious the first time I heard it, it was funny the second time, amusing the third, mediocre the fourth, and by the 62,224th time it had started to irk me. I loved the mind numbing stale gameplay of doing cow runs over and over again, but realistic mooing would have made the time past much faster. If you feel the same way I do (or even if you don’t), then the answer to our Diablo cravings minus the phony voice-over cow moos is here. The answer is Sacred, a game developed by Ascaron Entertainment. The best part about Sacred is that it has cows that moo like real cows, like happy California cows (sorry, inside Californian joke).
Anyone want to explain the joke to me? |

one could venture to say that using "California" and "happy" together in the same sentence could possibly imply images of the 'gay' aspects of san franciso, which might lead one to think that their cows are gay too?
i might be reaching though...
anyway, if you want a real cow in the states go to the midwest, the coasts have nothing but pollution. and if you want real cheese, go to wisconsin |
