If you've been having reboot-lockups, look on... |
|
Hi,
I'm running on a 1400+ AMD with an all in wonder ATI Radeon (7200 chipset). I downloaded the drivers for the Radeon and started playing. For the past week I'd been experiencing lockups that forced me to reboot, and I didn't even have the view distance or ai distance at full. I tweaked those bars around, but didn't have much luck; it seemed as though it would lock randomly (never happened in the same place twice -- except the char. creation. A few times, if I tried to rename my class, it would freeze). I don't claim to know much about the hardware problems, but after I turned off the music I stopped having lockups that made me reboot. I then turned up the view and ai distances to full and played away the day freeze-free. It's a bit choppy at times, but it works. I hope this solution helps any who are having lock up trouble.

Instead of playing without music just do into DXDIAG and switch the sound acceleration down a notch or two . . . it works. |
