iv'e beaten the game once, and now going through the 2nd time, I still haven't been able to find any way to initialize the quest. I just cleared out the skeleton tower and found the book.
Please help!

There is a JemyM walkthrough link somewhere on this site. Too lengthy to post here but you must open each book before the next book appears. The last line is a hint as to where the next book is. They must be found in order. For the second book go past Mtn Castle(harpies) and accross bridge to the old castle ruins where their is a switch that collapses the floor. Read your clue. You'll need some magic to get to the top.

I found this place but didn't need magic to get up to the top,I was able to jump on the plinths. I collapsed the floor and went down, My question now is...Will this corrupt the quest, and who initiates the quest so I can check it out rather than waste time playing on and not be able to complete it.
Thanks for any help,
Eddie.

As long as you got the book then it is fine.
I didn't use magic to get up there either.
There is a total of 6 books I think.
There is a map on gothic dot that shows all their locations
