I have the 5.1 Inspire speakers and a SBLive 5.1 gamer sound card. Every time I go into gothic it resets my system to surround mode, and it is supposed to be on 5.1 mode. (I'm looking in sounds and audio devices in Winxp Control Panel) So when I come out of the game, or even when I'm IN the game, Only the front two speakers are working. I have to reset every time. What do I do? |

Somebody said he did.
If you have a fast internet connection you could download the latest LiveWare! from 3/22/02. 340 MB. Maybe Creative fixed the problem. |

Actually that person has 4.1 so he can pick 4 speakers, I however, have 5, and the game has no option for that, I have already downloaded Liveware, it's not 340 mb.

The sound library used by Gothic does not provide an '5.1' option.
Therefore no way to activate it, sorry.
The only thing you can do is to extend the list of sound providers in Gothic.ini (enables 'Dolby Surround' and 'RADGameTools RSX' in the sound menu) with
[SOUND]
extendedProviders=1
but, unfortunately, this should not solve your problem.

Damnit...This will probably not be fixed by a patch either. Piranha Bytes built this buggy game and just quit. I've email several times about tech support, and I have not recieved ONE email, not evne a confirmation. Looks like a one hit company to me.

Finally you got an answer.

postum scriptum: and yes, it will not be fixed because it's an third party library which does not offer this mode.
