I joined the Old Camp...I killed the Minecrawler Queen....I returned the eggs to Car Kalom...
I now need to return to the Old Camp and get promoted. So which is better? Do I want to become a Mage or do i want to become a Guard.
Can anyone help me and explain which is better..... _________________ ---The Force is with me, and not with you--- |

Well it depends if you want to be a magician of a warrior. Where have you put your skills in so far. Theres a trick where you can become a guard and then join the mages later but I'm not quite sure of the exact process and don't want to stuff you up. _________________ =Moderator of The RPGDot Shadows=

Warrior: You fight, fight, and fight with normal weapons and bows, and you're not able to use runes.
Mage: You are able to gain in circles and use runes. However, you'll have to do a lot of running.
I'd say you try to play both, one after another. _________________ =Farseer=

Do you go right? Or do you go left? A simple decision, yes? No ambiguities. Only the dream of the path not taken! And so one might stand in this place and contemplate for a long while. What will I miss if I go left? What will I lose if I go right? And in my indecision, have I chosen a worse fate? |

If you have no preference, then go for Guard! Train your strength and whack and whack. Works for most people.
If you don't mind being a weakling with pitiful damage power to start with, and continue being weak for a long long time, then choose Mage. Mind you, Mages will lose to warriors at first... but by the end the spells are so powerful, no warrior stands a chance. Plus you get to watch those cool f/x when you do the spells.
Bottom line... not much difference! You can join Mages, but train like a warrior. Or you can join Guards and train as a mage (although much much later!) |

Play a mage. It's too easy to max out exp as a warrior then you can't use runes.
You can still buy all of the warrior skills as a mage and robes protect more, in general.

You could play both (even at the same time !!!!) but being a mage gives you more fun! I started as a warior and nearly ended the game bored as hell!!!! As a mage you are never bored! Fun spells, and ,of course, the woice of fried enemies oh men! I love being a mage. Try it!!!! Join the OC and when you get the chance to become a Mage talk to whats-his-face and then when he goes inside to give you the test for being a Mage run over to Thorus and ask to be a Guard. Then buy Heavy Guard armor, go back to whats-his-face and complete the Mage training.
TA DAAA
You are now a Mage with Heavy Guard armor. _________________ Current Games: PS:T

Sadly, you can never get Heavy Guard Armour.
You'll have to make due with the Medium stuff. _________________ Make good choices. |

You can also become a guard, then in chapter 4 join the water mages. _________________ One ring to rule them all, One ring to find them, One ring to bring them all, and in the darkness spite them. One mage to stop it all.
