Blizzard bans over 400,000(!) Battle.net accounts

Blizzard has announced they have shut down approximately 403,000 Battle.net accounts. This is in addition to earlier bans (like back in June - story). 276,000 StarCraft accounts, 86,000 Diablo II accounts and 41,000 Warcraft III accounts were affected by this latest move. Some accounts were apparently shut down temporarily while others may be banned permanently.

Why is that? Do you cheat?

Cheating ruined Diablo 2 for me.

Nice move. People who cheat in public online games deserve such a fate in my opinion. Too bad this kind of purge doesn't happen more often.

I agree, this is good news. Cheating screwed up d2 and I still advocate a complete wipe. Just blame it on a virus

Yes, where's a good anti-cheat-wipe virus when you need it...
