OK I just started, I'm trying to get 50 ore go pay for some sword skill or hunting, not sure which yet but I keep getting the not enough ore message. I went to the store in the old camp and tried to give 100 ore worth of stuff for nothing and he took it and didn't give me a dime! Also, how can I see how much ore I have, is it the ore nuggets or what? General help on making money would be great also, not best ways, just the logistics of it all. Thanks |

You need to move the ore nuggets from the vendor's inventory to the middle section, or you simply give it to him for free.
The ore nuggets are the currecy, the coins you find are worthless. You will see your ore nuggets in your misc. inventory.
An easy way to make money is to simply beat people up and take their stuff. But save first, just in case the person you go after is stronger than you. Beat do not kill.

In general, when you trade with a merchant you move items from your inventory to the center area AND you move the stuff you want to trade from his inventory to the center area. The trade will only occur if the value of your trade side (the stuff you are giving him) is equal to or greater than the value of the stuff from his side. So be careful before hitting the button to finalize the deal - if you have stuff from your inventory but no stuff (or stuff of lesser value) from his side - the deal WILL go through and you will lose out.

Little tip for this moving things from inventory to inventory>
use + left/right turn = 1 item per click
use + left/right strafe = 10 items per click
use + left/right turn + shift = 100 items per click

You can do nothing with them. These artefacts are probably from "before barriere" times.

Probably Rendelius, he seems to be trying to clean the forum up a little, which is good. Not that I really have anything against cussing, but there are kids on here, so I wouldn't mind seeing some kind of language guide lines. |

Possible spoiler
If you want to make some money, then go beat up some diggers in their huts, don't do it were the guards can see you. By some hunting skills. This way when you kill something, you can take it's meat, claws... These you can trade for oar. There are other ways as well, but that is the easiest for the beginer! |

Easiest way to make cash at the beginning is to knock over the smithy box, and sell off the steel (or turn them into swords for a bit more tradeability). heheheh, just don't let fletcher see ya .
But I think the original poster's problem was that he didn't know you're supposed to scoop the cash outta the vendor's inventory.

When you meet your first merchant, you'll see 3 screens... one will be yours, on the other side will be his... in the middle will be empty boxes. To trade something, you have to select something you want to trade (healing herbs for example). You highlight that, and press CTRL+Arrow in direction of the merchant (that is... if your screen is on the left, you press toward the merchant, so to the right. Ctrl+Right arrow.) On top of the middle screen, you'll see numbers... that's value... You move everything you want to sell to this middle screen. Now goto merchant's window, and select how he'll pay for it. numbers on top of middle screen will show value of things you want to sell and what you want in return. When you're done, press ENTER. You'll get accept/refuse box. If you're sure, press accept.
note: If you select items you want to sell, but from merchant's screen you select somethings of LESS value, you'll still get the trade... But you'll lose on it.
2) Buying and selling price is 2:1. That is, if a sword costs 100, you'll sell it only for 50.

Constructive swearing has it's place, Spewing garbage after garbage just unwittingly shows how fragile your intellect is.
Darnalak,
The Necromancer
PS: or means you have some rare form of Cyber-Terets syndrome. (probably spelled that wrong )
