Is there anyone that tried to play this game as a TRUE mage (Tons of Mana/low str/low dex)
Is it really possible?
I tried to be a mage, but trying to level off of scrolls is
1)expensive
2)hard as hell to find enough scrolls in the early chapters
I want to play a whole game as one, but it seems like a lot of *Cast*run*run*heal*Cast
where as fighter is slash*slash*dead
Has anyone done it successfully and is it worth it?
Like, how do you try to take on a pack of wolves and not have the battle last for 20-30 minutes from all the running and healing you'll have to do? |

It is very possible, though difficult in the beginning.

That's why you don't use scrolls. Get a Digger's Dicipline and a set of armor (the free Scraper clothes should fit nicely) and do your best to survive the first chapter with that. Don't forget to save those points from the levels you need. You really really really need those to get up to the 4th circle of magic.

Hate to say this but one of the most important skills you need to know as a Mage is how to run. Though, once you get into your more powerful spells, you'll notice you're not running nearly as much as before.

Been through twice as a Mage and yes, it's worth it. It's a great thing to be able to take out a group of beasties with only having to press two or three buttons. Take out a pack of wolves without running? Use an area spell. Storm of Fire works wonders. Btw, check JemyM's guide. Shows a couple nice combo's. Also a run down of the effectiveness of some spells as well. |

I tried it, but it was too diffucult and...
And it is not necessary, because you can invest into bow/dexterity and you will still have enough exp. points to teach everything in magic as soon as it will be avalaible for you.
I finished this game as master of bow with dexterity nearly 200 and mage 6th circle 260 max. mana. And I must say, You do not really need so many max. mana points...
So there is no reason for being pure mage (but if you want to...) |

I wanted to do it just as a different way of playing the game, but as I thought about it, the majority of your fighting/questing is done when you are your weakest (Chapter1) and magic and schools is no where to be seen...I guess I'll give it a shot. But I think I'll go archer 1st |
