The letter I got in the beginning to deliver to mage in the castle cannot be delivered in the Demo--so,why have it in first place?What is the point?
Secondly,now that I've done a number of errands,etc,and am back in Old Camp, I cannot go back to anyplace other than just running around the outside Perimeters of the Old Camp-the barrier keeps throwing me back.
I can cross the bridge to the Forest area and go a short distance,I can also go North a ways toward the beginning area and thats it.
Have I finished the Demo and just do not know it? Or is there some *bug* suddenly preventing me from returning to these other camps?
Lastly, since I cannot get the "marvin" cheat to work (assuming I am doing it correctly--hit S bring up stats screen and type "marvin" and hoit S again---Marvin-mode --never appears.
So I am assuming that cheat code does not woork in the Demo??

Well,thank you for the reply.
If thats all there is then the Demo is truly a useless waste of time and totally meaningless.
Saw a couple of Gothic Games in the "Clearance" Bin at Best Buy for $17 but I think I'll pass on this one. |

*sigh* There is a reason why it's called a demo. It's just to give you a feel for the game for free. They can't just hand over the full game for free, they wouldn't be able to make more.

Try B Marvin B. I have the demo on my harddisc. Afaik ALL cheats work in the demo. All items and NPCs can be inserted, you can teleport through the demo-barrier, etc.
You can enter the castle if you draw your sword, run past the guards and put your sword away. However, you are not meant to enter it, so youŽll encounter missing dialog voices. |

I appreciate all the replies and obviously I failed to make my situation clear: Its that I have done a few errands and after going back to OldCamp I now cannot get anywhere but a short distance from the Old Camp without being bounced back by the Barrier.
Unless I can get out I cannot complete these other errands and I thought that was really screwy--_

Do you mean to imply that IF I get the B marvin B to work I can play the entire game from the Demo? I guess you mean I can just "cheat" in the Demo-hehe.Maybe that would get me past this Barrier BUG.
Try it Tomorrow and see if I can get it to work for me.

You would not be able to play the entire game. You'd probably just find empty landscape.

Uh, the Barrier Bug is not a Bug, it is a set limit for the demo. Even if you get through this Demo Barrier, there will be no NPC's in the place, nor will there be any monsters.

The point I was up to is that Gothic has probably the most advanced cheat system of all games in all genres I know. IŽm talking about more than thousand cheat codes here.
You can insert or manipulate almost everything. And every cheat (mostly inserts) I tried was _enabled_ in the demo.
The landscape is of course empty, but you can walk (or better fly as a bloodfly  ) through the entire world, swim down the great waterfalls, insert different monsters, spells, etc.

Yes... of course, no fun to spoile the game. But i have allready tryed some cheats. 
Anyway, i heard, that you can save just before you finish the game, and then you can walk around and level upp and such... is there a maximum level? |
