I have just purchased Gothic. I have WinXP with a Radeon 32MB DDR or 7200. The game loads and plays just fine except I can not pick anything up. I disabled fog just in case that had anything to do with it. I also remapped the action key to see it that had anything to do with it. I don't want to load the patch as all the forums say it is for a load crash, and if you don't have that to leave it alone. Has anyone else had this problem? Any sugestions, I'm stumped.

You can pick up things by pressing
up + ctrl (LMB) when thing is active.
This is very often use combination (for many actions in game)

Try it, you can also consult readme.html (installed with Gothic or you can read it here)

Also, note that before you can pick anything up, it must be "active" on your screen. This means you not only see the object, but it's name is being displayed (otherwise it is NOT selected for action).
